General Program
Q: What is Club Unite Boys Volleyball?
A: In its inaugural year, Club Unite launches East Tennessee’s premier boys’ volleyball program, providing athletes with elite training, competitive opportunities, and development both on and off the court.
Q: At what age can boys start playing with Club Unite?
A: We welcome boys as young as 12 years old through 18 years old (seniors in high school). Teams are divided by age group to ensure fair competition and development.
Q: Do I need prior volleyball experience to join?
A: We welcome both beginners and experienced athletes. Our coaching staff is dedicated to developing players at every skill level.
Tryouts & Teams
Q: How do tryouts work?
A: Players attend scheduled tryouts, where they will be evaluated on skills, athletic ability, and coachability. Teams are then formed by age and skill level.
Q: When are tryouts held?
A: Tryouts are typically held in late summer or early fall. Specific dates will be posted on the Club Unite website and social media.
Q: How many players make a team?
A: Rosters typically consist of 9–12 players, depending on the age group and competitive level.
Season & Tournaments
Q: When does the boys' season run?
A: The boys' season typically runs from November through June, with practices starting in the fall and tournaments beginning in late winter.
Q: How often are practices?
A: Teams practice 2 times per week, depending on the team level and tournament schedule.
Q: Where are tournaments played?
A: Tournaments range from local and regional competitions in Tennessee and surrounding states, to national events depending on team placement.
Commitment & Costs
Q: What is the time commitment?
A: Club volleyball is a competitive commitment. Players are expected to attend all practices, team events, and tournaments unless excused.
Q: What are the costs involved?
A: Costs vary depending on the team and travel schedule. Club fees typically cover coaching, practice facilities, uniforms, and tournament entry fees. Payment plans are available.
Q: Are there fundraising or scholarship options?
A: Club Unite offers fundraising opportunities, which will offset the players' last dues
Training & Development
Q: Who are the coaches?
A: Our coaching staff includes experienced volleyball professionals, many of whom have collegiate playing or coaching backgrounds.
Q: What skills will my son learn?
A: Players will develop technical skills (serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, defense) as well as teamwork, leadership, and competitive confidence.
Q: Can my son still play other sports?
A: Yes, but we encourage athletes to carefully balance schedules to avoid conflicts. Club volleyball is a significant time commitment.
